Wanpanman Chapter 93 Scans

Yes! I wrote about a thing happening, and then it happened. There’s been a new chapter of the original Wanpanman or Onepunch-man. It’s not very long, if you put it in a book, it would be something like eight pages, [Edit 2: With the additions, it would be more now, but I think we're at the end of the revisions.] but don’t think that means it’s not much. To the contrary, Saitama couldn’t be treating this climactic showdown with the ultimate evil in any better a way during the first four pages.

You can read the chapter over on Batoto.

[Edit: Sorry if you came in when the link was off. ONE has been adding some panels, so the scan's URL changed. It's correct now, and I'll try to keep up if it changes again.]

Handsomely Masked Sweet Mask could use a facial and a good night’s rest. The rest of us get another new chapter of the original Wanpanman! Two new issues of material in such a short time frame when the time frame from before had out last issue at the beginning of summer? It’s like some sort of major holiday season where you get presents just happened.

In any case, the Garou arc is winding down. I’m seeing a lot of people predicting that it may be the comic as a whole winding down, but I don’t grasp that at all. To the contrary, this seems more like the jumping off point for the Hero’s Association and Saitama to start butting heads directly with Sweet Mask here at the forefront because Saitama’s not a huge prick like most of the upper level heroes. Once again, this is a chapter that doesn’t seem to be finished, so how far into that territory we’re going is yet to be seen.

You can read the chapter here. Since it’s likely to go through versions like last time, I’ll come back to update the link when needed. Or you can check the chapter listing here because that will always have the most recent version on top.

The Manga Taisho is an annual manga award that stared back in 2008. A nonstandard amount of manga for that year are selected as nominees, and the winner holds their position as King of the Comics until the following award like a Beauty Queen pageant. And who better to win a beauty contest than the combined effort of Yusuke Murata and ONE that both continues to wow with it’s stellar artwork and fun writing and managed to give me a manga author whose works I can read without having to second guess myself.

Onepunch-man, specifically the Murata redraw version as you’d expect, it one of this year’s 10 nominees for the Manga Taisho, or Cartoon Grand Prize. It’s competition are as follows:

Ajin
Ashizuri Aquarium
A Bride’s Story
Sakamoto Desu Ga?
Goodbye, Tama-chan
Juuhan Shuttai
The Seven Deadly Sins
Terrarium in a Drawer
Boku Dake ga Inai Machi

I couldn’t find anything on Ashizuri Aquarium unfortunately. One of the previous winners of the prize was the very good Silver Spoon, and I read some of Sakamoto Desu Ga? in a bygone age and it’s actually all right, so this prize is the sort of thing you can put some stock into. I hope there’s some good news in this fandom’s future.

“And so ended a long night.” Onepunch-man by ONE Chapter 94 Final Version

It’s finally time to put Garou to bed. The final version of Wanpanman Chapter 94 is out. On top of being a solid end to what’s been an excellent arc, it stands as an example of ONE’s artistic talent. There’s a very impressive attention to detail in the art right before the end, and that’s on top of the still solid action blocking. Yusuke Murata’s redraw of this will be the best 35th* birthday present I’ve ever gotten.

You can read the final version of the chapter here. Finishing the chapter by going, “Man, fuck Sweet Mask,” is a totally reasonable response.
